No rowdy behavior and unacceptable behavior
No tau-poking, playing with fountain, school cheers.
Groups (mixture of gender) will be sleeping together in their own slum; inappropriate behavior would not be tolerated at all

No loitering, leaving without permission
Stay with groups at all times do not wander and loiter around.
Be accounted for
Do not wander off into the shopping centre.

Stay with team and facilitator at all times.
If you have a definite need to leave, please inform facilitators earlier on.

Pay attention to instructions and facilitators
Be attentive, and pay attention to facilitators who would be with every team.

They would be the ones to be dispatching most of the information to all of you, and if you miss it, there’s a chance that you’ll be missing out on a lot of important things to take note of. Like lunch.
Anyone found to be in breach of these rules (and many more) would be handled by the organizers. They would have the final say in the outcome of the participants’ actions.

What to expect
FUN(:

Expect fun, but also tolerate hardship as we put you through activities to simulate real-life hardship, and experience how people living in different parts of the world deal with poverty and hardship.

Reality
Everything done in the program is portraying a mimesis of the real life situation.

Thus, the actitivities are mean to show you the reality of the problem, which is actually ongoing in this current world.

Discomfort of poverty living

An adequate but not-so-good night’s rest
be expected to be uncomfortable in the humidity and heat, and maybe even a sleepless night.

Program would be packed with activities, so you’re not to be bored. There would be something to do at every point in time, to try showing you the fact that people in the poorer countries have to stretch their time just to make ends meet, and there is no such thing as rest time for them.

Many activities are put in plact to test your attentiveness, responsibility, accountability, teamwork and creativity. This would help you to bind within your team and also create new friendships with the teams from other schools.

Concerns
Safety: medical standby

there would be medics on hand to attend to any situations on site.

Should there be a serious injury, we would definitely send you to the clinic / hospital.

Personal medical needs
Tell facilitators once you meet them. Have own medication prepared.
Take note: asthma. Have inhaler with you at all times

Adequate water supply
Bottled water would be given
No need to bring water bottle
Food: enough and dietary requirements are taken care of

Toilets
vivocity toilets are available

the toilets are not specially for us to use, and there would still be the public using the toilets there.
please do take note of the cleanliness and keep the toilets in good conditions.
participants are not to go to the toilets unless they have real needs (not to go and tie hair etc)

Money: bring minimal, all expenses covered
as all expenses are covered, there is no real need to bring money unless its for travelling expenses

would be allowed to leave if necessary
the organisers and facilitators are to be informed of any intention to leave camp
